Bringing it back

Finally back in the game. Now what to do with this blog. I don't really have the time to run the website again, but definitely going to be posting about drum and bass here. Currently on the hunt for this elusive Andy C and Dj Hype with Stevie Hyper D at One Nation set. Some of the tunes played by Andy C were Technology (Boymerang Remix), Quest, Night Flight, Metropolis. Some of the tunes played by Dj Hype are Glamour Gold - Only One, Dictation.

Leaving for Europe

I'm leaving for Europe soon and will be enroute to London in a couple of weeks. So I will have a full investigation on the drum and bass scene. Hopefully people won't be jerks like they were last time. John B was a bit rude last time so was Mackie. That was 5 years ago though, things change, or do they?

Example of DNB stupidity

A few years ago I said something along the lines of "when did Fierce start playing crap music". It was around the time when the new school jump up/clownstep whatever you may call it was in full force. Well, I received a private message from Fierce on dogsonacid.com and here is what it said word for word.

EDIT: I actually found the whole exchange between Fierce and I. It's actually quite an interesting read. Here is the entire exchange uncensored.

As i said mikey i make drum and bass you call it neurofunk.

Oh, that was ages ago! I totally forgot I said that. As a part of the media now, I shouldn't have said that. No worries. But you shouldn't let a random opinion get to you homey. It's all good. But go have a look as to my last two posts I said about you:

No worries. I'll still support your tunes. It's just a message board! Besides, you got some neurofunk to write, get on it! :)

Mate i don't keep up with your posts. If you can't remember what was said then why would you so strongly deny it? it was a thread about the tune 'brok' by fresh and myself. again mike let's just leave this alone i don't post on d o a unless i have some valid news . p.s.( i don't like mixes that ed and opt do either) take care.

Read the thread what you said was directed at me by name.I can read , as for nuerofunk well you've proved my point. yes you are entitled to your opinion( i've never had a bad record review ), but remember i 've never started a thread criticising your choice of record or even mentioned your name for that matter good or bad. so let's just agree to disagree, and i wish you luck in all your endeavours.

what I said wasn't even about you. everyone is entitled to their own opinions you know. do you email everyone when you or your friends get a bad record review? I'm sure not. when I hear ed rush, optical, fierce, matrix, im looking into that past sound, not this sound that everyone else is playing. that set you did with break on 1xtra was fantastic, i was really happy to hear it. you think i dont have any twisted individual or clipz in my box? I got booked to play a 98 to 99 neurofunk set this last tuesday, i must have played mostly matrix, fierce, ed rush, optical, ryme tyme tunes. dont knock on me saying you've been into the music longer than anyone either because you never know what ive been into either. i still respect your music either way and will continue to buy it. i got my picture taken with you in Dallas about 6 years ago. I don't even live in texas.

That may be the case. But what if what i said is harsh, then what you've said is equally harsh. I've been into drum and bass longer than these ridiculous categories, ie. (new jump kick) .So i take offence to such statements about my style.Drum and bass was once filled with the mutual appreciation of the different styles and the diversity and now ... Thank you for buying the records and having an open mind.

oh btw, if this is Fierce. You ought to go to look at all of the threads I've ever posted with me praising you. So if it is, thats harsh man. Ive bought everything you've ever put out.

Mission Statement

The reason for the creation of this blog is to report on the drum and bass scene from an unbiased and uncensored point of view.

The past website I was the admin on dnbmassive.com [non functional link] was completely sugar coated and I withheld information and news and general gossip from within the scene. This is not the case this time around. If you are a drum and bass dj/producer/label owner/promoter/whatever the case my be, if you open your mouth or even a whimper of something stupid you may have said, news related or anything, it will be posted here. The only discression I will say if I do not hear it personally I will simply post "heresay" before any information given. Now, if you think this is a tabloid or gossip blog, you might be right, but you might be wrong. I will most likely be put on the blacklist for posting the truth because that is just how the drum and bass scene works. Noone in the scene likes to own up to their stupidity. Well, in my opinion, it is time to take ownership of it.
